These days, my writing effort is going into work on a book (assuming I can get out of my own way, and stay there). But I also want to stay on the blog. So with your permission, let me introduce a new series I’m calling Postcards from Here.
The idea is that through the course of a week, I will put my camera to work every day except Shabbat. Regardless of the nature of the day, my mood, my obligations, I will try to give attention to at least one moment. Then I’ll post some of the better pics here. And if a worthwhile teaching comes to mind – my own or one that merits plagiarizing – I may try to slip it in when you’re not looking. Who knows? Maybe I’ll actually heed the teachings I offer.
And with that, here are some postcards from last week..
“If you are have a sapling in your hand and someone tells you the Messiah has arrived…
…first plant the sapling and then go out to welcome the Messiah.”
(Avot d’ Rabbi Natan)
